Melissa Smolensky Senior Publicist, Big Picture Media Melissa joined Big Picture Media as a full-time senior publicist in May of 2009. She has seven years of digital entertainment, film, non-profit and corporate public relations experience having represented everything from Fortune 500 companies such as HP, Sony Playstation and Wells Fargo to digital entertainment companies such as SNOCAP, Mozes and Wallop to acclaimed indie films like Backseat, Before The Music Dies and Funny Ha Ha. Melissa sharpened her teeth representing SXSW, working closely with the Austin Film Festival and promoting DEMO, a start-up conference. In addition, she has managed many lifestyle campaigns for Acoustic, Punkster and Around Tahoe. Other skills include management of new media such as Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and YouTube, event management, blogger relations and media relations with strong relationships with film, interactive and consumer press in her back pocket. Melissa graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.S. in advertising and film and fits right in within the Big Picture Media family.
